VITAS 317 for family reunification.
VITAS 317 is a family reunification visa for foreign nationals wishing to live with their family in Indonesia. Upon arrival, it must be converted into a Family KITAS at the local immigration office.
Legal spouse: husband or wife of an Indonesian citizen or a foreign KITAS/KITAP holder.
Children: children under 18 years old; those over 18 use school or university sponsorship.
Parents: parents wishing to reside with their Indonesian citizen child or official stay permit holder in Indonesia.
Validity & conversion
From VITAS 317 to Family KITAS.
VITAS 317 is valid for 1 year. Upon arrival in Indonesia, it must be converted into a Family KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit) valid for 1 year and renewable annually.
Required documents
Prepare the key documents from the start.
Original passport valid for at least 18 months
Sponsor bank statements for the last 3 months with a minimum balance equivalent to USD 1,500
Officially translated marriage certificate for spouses
Officially translated birth certificate for dependent children
Family Card (KK) & ID Card (KTP) of the Indonesian sponsor or copy of KITAS/KITAP of the foreign sponsor
Parental consent letter for visa/KITAS/KITAP for dependent children
Official sponsorship letter and certificate of domicile in Indonesia
Application process

KITAS and KITAP: KITAS is a temporary stay permit, whereas KITAP is a long-term permanent stay permit.
